Week #15

Half Share 9.10.21.jpg

This week’s half share includes: daikon radishes, cucumbers, delicata squash, tomatoes, zucchini, onion, bell pepper, and shishito peppers.

Delicata squash is a fall favorite on our farm. It is the perfect size and shape, easy to split down the middle, scoop out the seeds, and bake to perfection. This squash is a true delight on its own, baked until tender with a dollop of butter and salt. One of our CSA members enjoys making “sloppy joes” with the squash; filling the insides with meat or veggies. A great idea and way to enjoy this squash as a main dish.

Another week of beautiful peppers here on the farm. We hope you enjoy the variety of veggies. A last note for those of you unfamiliar with the Daikon radishes - they are a wonderful vegetable raw and cooked, a touch spicy, crisp and crunchy - commonly used in stir frys, salads, and kimchi.
