Week #6

This week’s share includes: sugar snap peas, kale, carrots, zucchini, and broccoli.

We’ve reached the peak (literally) of sugar snap pea season here on the farm, hence the very large bag of sugar snaps you got this week! This veggie sure is a quick treat!

What a rainy time we’ve been having on the farm! Not that anyone is complaining, that’s for sure. The plants couldn’t be happier, the people are suited up and harvesting rain or shine! We know that sometimes people get tired of some of the veggies you receive from one week to the next week. There are many of us on the farm who have veggie preferences. Even if one person may not be partial to boiled beets, they very well may love roasted beets or beets shredded amongst other veggies to make veggie burgers. The bottom line is, being a part of a CSA means committing to enjoying all veggies and/or being willing to get creative. We are so grateful to have our good friend Jeremy Bloom whip us up gourmet lunches every Friday while we harvest all of these beautiful veggies for you folks. If you ever need some help trying to figure out what to cook, he’s our go-to-guy. This past week he made us the most divine kale (vegan - which I couldn’t even believe!!!) spanakopita. Seriously check out the pics below!
